Supreme Workmanship

SHOP NOW

It is our belief that every clock that we manufacture is an heirloom and by the time it becomes one the clock must still fill the recipient with pride of ownership.

About Us

Klokkelaan Grandfather and Wall clocks have been in existence since 1991.

From a very humble beginning we did hand crafted solid wood clocks in the wood of the clients choice. In 1991 the clock production amounted to 2 wall clocks, these were in fact spectacular models as the workmanship was absolutely supreme, and to this day that has never changed, as we believe that any item that is manufactured to this superior quality sells itself.

The movements used are all the best that money can buy, we use mainly German Hermle and Keinninger clock movements.

Woods that are used are all prime quality and include English Oak, Brazillian, Imbuia, Kiaat from Angola, Blackwood from Knysna, African Rosewood, Cape Yellow wood, Pink Beech, Mahogony,English Maple, Tamboti, Jackaranda and Stinkwood.

From about 1994 we started to exhibit our masterpieces at the various shows in South Africa and have done so every year thereafter, Klokkelaan is now a household name when it comes to superior clock manufacturing at a competitive price. We do not have to spend a fortune on advertising as each clock that is delivered sells itself over and over again by virtue of its quality alone!

Clock Movements & Spares

At Klokkelaan our business has naturally diversified with time from exclusively clock building to include the importing and selling of clock movements and spares to enthusiasts who wish to build their own clock. We carry an enormous variety of clock spares. These include complete movements with all the trimmings and fittings needed to produce a really professional job.

Clock Repairs

A byproduct of selling clock spares is clock repairs. Today we employ a full time Master Clocksmith to do the repairs, the advantage of using such a highly skilled artisan is of course the micro engineering involved, and subsequently if the component is no longer available, then we make it !!

The bulk stock of movements and spares is held in the Cape but a very good representative quantity is held in the stores at our showroom. There is also a very wide variety of Quartz movements available.
